The Easter season is here, and we’ve got the sweetest list of everything to see and do.

Whether you’re here for the school holidays or just want to make the most of our glorious autumnal weather, Easter is one of the best times to experience all that the Sunshine Coast has to offer. We’re talking Easter-egg hunts, farm-stays, and days spent soaking up the sun on a coastal walk. Ahead, we’ve crafted up the ultimate guide to spending Easter surrounded by our blue and green backyard. Let’s go!

Easter Holiday Fun at Australia Zoo

Combine your love of Easter and animals with a visit to Australia Zoo. You’ll be in for a treat of a Zoo-wide Easter Sunday Egg Hunt, a Giant Inflatable Obstacle Course on the Africa Event Lawn, free hot-cross buns (Easter Sunday only), Egg-cellent Easter Adventure Trail, and more. Better yet, Easter Holiday Fun runs longer than a day at Australia Zoo, with activities happening from April 5 through to April 27.

For the adults, there’s also the option of enjoying a luxurious meal at Warrior Restaurant & Bar (located at The Crocodile Hunter Lodge) over the Easter Long Weekend. Find out more here.

Coastal Pathway

Family walking on the Coolum Beach Boardwalk

Family walking on the Coolum Beach Boardwalk

Looking to stretch your legs after all the chocolate? We suggest checking out the gorgeous Coastal Pathway which runs from Bells Creek (Caloundra region) all the way northwards to Coolum. This impressive 72km stretch passes alongside our sparkling beaches, with plenty of fabulous parks and photo opportunities along the way. Pick and choose which sections to start and end from, and make sure to stop by one of our fabulous local cafes for brunch along the way. Find out more about some of our best coastal walks and breakfasts here.

Enjoy a farm stay

Seven Peaks Farm Stay

Seven Peaks Farm Stay

Get up close to our furry and feathered farmyard friends on a farmstay this Easter. At Seven Peaks Farm Stay in Beerwah, vistas of our spectacular Glass House Mountains are juxtaposed against lush green pastures where chickens, goats, and other animals, graze. As you stroll the pathways, you’ll be in prime position to pick produce from the vegetable garden and explore the fruity offerings from the orchard.

Easter High Tea

This year, keep things dainty and delicious at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort by indulging in their Easter High Tea. Held on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the month of April (excluding 18, 19, 20, 25 April), you can expect to sit down to a moreish mix of finger sandwiches, Easter goodies, fresh scones, and more.

If you’re in the Hinterland, hop your way over to The Long Apron at Spicers Clovelly Estate to enjoy their Easter High Tea (available 19-20 April). Soak up the sights of the Estate’s stunning gardens while nibbling your way through a delectable array of treats and sipping on a glass of Taittinger Champagne. Make sure to book your spot to avoid missing out!

Sweet treats galore

Kenilworth Donuts

Kenilworth Donuts

Looking for something other than Easter eggs to satisfy your sweet tooth? We suggest jumping in the car and heading on a dessert-themed road trip around the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Make tracks for Montville – the gorgeous mountain village famed for its scenic views – where you’ll enjoy dozens of fudge flavours at Fudgyboombahs, sugary goodness at Candy Addictions, and the lovingly handcrafted chocolate at Chocolate Country.

Down amongst the idyllic countryside of Kenilworth, be sure to pick up a package of fresh donuts at Kenilworth Country Bakery. Think classic sprinkle donuts, jam donuts, and out-of-the-box fun: like their famous coffee-in-a-donut, and the 1kg donut challenge.

Easter at The Station SC

The Station SC, Birtinya

The Station SC, Birtinya

Yee-hah! Put a country-style spin on the Easter festivities this year and head along to the Beers, Boots & BBQ Festival at The Station SC. With country music legend Lee Kernaghan bringing the tunes, a classic American BBQ feed (slow cooked ribs, anyone?) on the menu, and an array of brews to wash it all down, THIS is the place to be hanging out.

Hot Cross Bun... with a twist

Imagine if all the iconic flavours of a hot cross bun were rolled into a drink? Say g’day to Sunshine & Sons’ limited release HOT CROSS BUN gin. Yep, you heard us right! Put an adult twist on the Easter celebrations and sip on this beauty as you make your way through your trove of holiday chocolates.
