Getting Here
The Mary Valley is all about real country hospitality and is best enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Take your time to explore the collection of country villages, trails and drives.
The Mary River runs through the heart of the Valley, but it is the small villages such as Dagun, Amamoor, Kandanga and Imbil that provide the heartbeat.
If it’s adventure you’re seeking, you can find it on water and land in the valley with experiences including canoeing, fishing, bush walking, bike riding, hiking and four-wheel
driving.
For your best chance of seeing the famous Mary Valley platypus join a sunrise or sunset kayak tour with Ride on Mary or see the land from horse back with Mary Valley Adventure Trails.
To truly immerse yourself in the region, we suggest a stay at Amamoor Lodge, Honeybee Country Accommodation, Imbil Bridge Farm or Imbil Country Cabins.
With a history of agriculture, beef and dairy farming on rich fertile land, the Mary Valley has earned a reputation as a ‘food bowl’. Dagun Growers Market is on every Saturday and is
your chance to buy fresh locally grown, spray free produce direct from the farmer. Held at the historic Dagun Station from 3pm each week, you can also find locally made preserves, cheese, baked goods and more.
The Mary Valley region is host to events including the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, Kilkivan Great Horse Ride and Mitchell Creek Rock n Blues Festival.
