Feel inspired as you explore our coastline, unique waterways, and subtropical rainforests – all while keeping watch for the native wildlife that calls the Sunshine Coast home.

As the only place in Australia where three UNESCO-declared biospheres sit side-by-side, we’re uniquely positioned to offer the very best of natural beauty on the Sunshine Coast.

From our rare Everglade system, through to our ancient Glass House Mountains, hiking trails, waterholes, National Parks and pristine beaches, you’ll find plenty of scenic spots to fill your days.

Hinterland magic

Our Hinterland is home to several National Parks which offer up stunning hiking tracks and swimming spots along the way, while near the beach, Noosa National Park and Tewantin National Park closely connect our surf and turf. Bring out the mountain bikes (or hop in the saddle) to tackle the trails at Eumundi and Parklands Conservation Parks. If you’re keen to chase waterfalls, make sure to check out the serene beauty of Buderim Falls, swimming holes in Kenilworth, and more.

Coastal beauty

Immerse yourself in the Great Sandy Biosphere by embarking on the Cooloola Great Walk – a 102 km one-way adventure that’ll have you passing through towering sand dunes, enchanting everglades, and beautiful forest pockets bursting with lush greenery. Meanwhile, day-trippers with a 4WD can’t skip the Great Beach Drive, which connects Noosa with Rainbow Beach, right up to K’gari.

Our stunning mountains

You’ll find it hard to miss our towering Glass House Mountains which rise from within our Hinterland forests. Hike around the base of Mt Tibrogargan, follow the trail to the summit of Mt Ngungun, or simply admire from one of our numerous lookout points. Closer to the coast, you’ll find beautiful sunrise views at Mt Coolum and a sweeping vista across Tewantin National Park at the top of Mt Tinbeerwah.

The Noosa Everglades

Fun fact: we’re home to one of only two Everglade systems on Earth (the other is in Florida)! In Noosa, you’ll find an impressive stretch of sparkling waterways, fringed by tea-tree forests and floating lily pads. Nicknamed ‘the River of Mirrors’ for its reflective surface, this is the ideal spot to head out on a kayaking tour to experience the full extent of the native flora and fauna on offer. The bird-spotting is fabulous here!

Wonderous wildlife

Our beautiful fauna love the Sunshine Coast as much as we do! Snorkel with green sea turtles out on the reef at Mudjimba Island, witness humpback whales breaching out to sea from our array of beachside vantage points, or spot dugongs in the clear waters of the Great Sandy Marine Park. Meanwhile, our hiking trails provide the ideal setting to enjoy the sight of grazing pademelons amongst the forest and koalas high up in the treetops.
